The counseling and guidance program at Ingersoll Middle School is comprehensive in that a full range of activities and services are provided. Activities are conducted on a regular basis to assist students achieve success. Although immediate and crisis needs of students are to be met, another focus of the program is to provide all students with experiences to help them grow and develop.

All students are in need of guidance services. As students are growing up they are often in need of assistance in "normal" developmental tasks.

The following services are offered by the counseling staff:

• Career development and educational planning
• School success skills and academic concerns
• Interpersonal communication skills and development
• Decision making and problem solving skills
• Individual and group counseling (academic, career, social, emotional, self-esteem, etc.)
• Coordinating services-testing referrals, high school registration, peer mediation program, visits, orientation
• Consultation
