Science and Technology for Children is a science curriculum filled with innovative hands-on activities designed to motivate students. All sixth graders participate in three kit based units experiencing the scientifc method, data collection, problem solving, and group cooperation.
Ecosystems - Students construct and observe their own terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem. The complex environmental problems created by mans influence on the larger ecosystem become evident.
Floating and Sinking - Students develop a better understanding of the concepts of density, displacement, and weight in relation to buoyancy through observation and experimentation.
Measuring Time - Students experience the history of timekeeping from tracking the movement of the sun and moon to building clock escapement mechanisms.
