Welcome to the web page of the eighth grade Dream Team. Eighth grade is a very important year as we prepare students for high school. Responsiblity, study habits, and group communication skills are stressed throughout the year. Students are given several oppportunities to begin shaping their future through interest inventories, career research, the Reality Store at Spoon River College, and high school registration. Two important cross curricular projects during the eighth grade year are the career research project and Outward Ingersoll. The career research project is a major part of the science and language arts curriculum during the second quarter grading period. Outward Ingersoll is a three day outdoor education experience in May that is "awesome". The eighth grade TAP activities focus on team building, cooperation, and problem solving which are all necessary components for success at Outward Ingersoll. Look for more information about Outward Ingersoll to come home in April. We will need many parent volunteers for this fun and exciting program. |
