Mrs. Dawson, Mrs. Emery, Mrs. Randall, Mrs. Keller, and Mr. Sutton lead the ENERGIZERS team.

The ENERGIZERS team was formed in 1996 by a group of seventh grade teachers who had gone through middle school training and were hoping their new group of students would be energized with the middle school concept. That fall, one of the students made a banner for the hallway which still advertises "ENERGIZERS USE THEIR BATTERIES TO POWER THEIR MINDS".

Community service for the ENERGIZERS includes special holiday interaction with some neighbors of Ingersoll Middle School. After students decorate pumpkins in TAP classes, the students share their Halloween pumpkins with Hoke Ridge, Emerald Estates, and The Renaissance Center. ENERGIZERS also visit the Renaissance residents at Christmas time to sing festive songs and deliver handmade cards. Besides visiting their neighbors, ENERGIZERS also participate in Student Council service projects. They annually help with the Canned Food Drive for the community and the Pop-Tab Collection which aids The Ronald McDonald House.

ENERGIZERS traditionally take two educational field trips and three good behavior incentive trips. The students tour the state of Illinois Capitol in Springfield. In May, the students travel the "Road to Reality", a mock disaster caused by drinking and driving. At the end of the second, third, and fourth quarters, students who qualify for time away from the academics can go bowling, watch a movie at the locat theater, and participate in roller skating and various activities at an out-of-town recreation center.

ENERGIZERS and ALL-STARS (also seventh graders) promote fun and teamwork in a variety of ways. For example, the two teams combine to sponsor the Valentine's Dance. This dress-up dance is for seventh and eighth graders only. The profit helps to buy team supplies and fund the Incentive Program. In addition, the ENERGIZERS and ALL-STARS compete each spring by TAP groups in the annual Seventh Grade Kickball Tournament. Brackets are set to determine first place and consolation winners.
