"Every Canton student is achieving at his or her maximum potential in an engaging, inspiring, and fluid learning environment."
Dear Parent(s), Guardian(s), & Friends:
On Behalf of the CUSD #66 Board of Education and Staff I would like to extend a warm welcome. Our hope is that your visit is informative and that you find our website up to date.
The Canton Learning Family is fortunate to employ a highly skilled group of teachers who are dedicated to the children and families of our community. For example, every teacher within our Learning Family believes that all students can learn and our entire staff works hard, every day, to provide a superior education for our students. In addition, our staff believes in an education for the whole child and building a strong relationship with student families. In the end, our goal is that every child receives an education that will assist them to become successful and productive citizens, who are critical thinkers, and who exhibit strong moral character. In short, we work hard to assist each child in reaching his or her fullest potential.
The Canton Learning Community provides a variety of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities for all students. For example, we have a diverse sports program along with a world class fine arts program. It is our desire to see all of our students involved within the learning community in some shape or form.
This year promises to be another exciting year for the Canton School District Learning Family. For example, the Canton 1:1 initiative will be expanded to Ingersoll Middle School. The Ingersoll Staff, Curriculum Director Jason Parson, and IT Director Don Howell have all been very busy preparing for the expansion of the initiative. The 1:1 initiative will allow every Middle School Student to have access to a laptop computer to enhance their educational opportunities. Canton is very lucky to have access to this type of technology for students in grades 5 thru 12.
In closing, as you visit our website, we hope you will find a great deal of helpful information about District 66 programs, activities, and upcoming events. You may also contact us at (309) 647-9411.
