​Board of Education Distinguished Guest Program

Purpose:
to recognize individuals in our community who have had
a positive influence on Canton Dist. 66
to promote attendance at Board Meetings
to provide a good news item on every monthly agenda

Nominations:
Nominations can be made in two ways – thru e-mail to
the Board of Education or through a letter sent to the
Board Office. Nominations are due no later than the
5th day of every month. Each month two board members
will review the nominations and choose one (or two)
for recognition. The winner(s) will be selected and
notified no later than the 10th of every month.  The
winner(s) will be chosen based on the criteria below.
Nominees will remain in the “pool” of nominees
indefinitely and may continue to be eligible for
recognition even if they are not chosen in a
particular month.

Criteria:
Nominees should be people who…
…have gone above and beyond to support some aspect of
Canton Dist. 66 (academic or extra-curricular).
…have had a positive impact on young people
…have provided leadership to improve working
conditions, processes or practices in the District.
…have demonstrated honesty, enthusiasm and integrity

Recognition:
Winners will be contacted by the Board President or
designee and invited to attend the monthly board
meeting. Winners must be present to accept award.
Winners will be recognized/introduced under Good News
Items at the beginning of the monthly meeting. Winners
will receive a certificate from the President of the
Board of Education and have their picture taken for
the local newspapers and district website.
